Richie McCaw, in full Richard Hugh McCaw, (born December 31, 1980, Oamaru, North Otago district, South Island, New Zealand), New Zealand rugby player who competed in a world-record 148 Test (international) matches and led his country’s national team, the All Blacks, to two Rugby Union World Cups (2011 and 2015).

McCaw grew up on his family’s farm in the Hakataramea Valley and played rugby for the local Kurow Rugby Club’s junior side. At Otago Boys’ High School in Dunedin, he was “number eight” in the school’s first XV (the top-level team). Following his graduation in 1999, he joined the Christchurch Football Club. He enrolled at Lincoln University, Christchurch, to study agricultural science, but he broke off his studies when he was selected to play for the New Zealand Under-19 team for the 1999 World Under-19 Rugby Tournament, which was won by New Zealand.

In New Zealand’s match against France in the 2011 Rugby Union World Cup, he became the first All Black to play in 100 Tests. McCaw was named captain of the All Blacks against Wales in 2004 and was given the post on a permanent basis in 2006, eventually leading the team in a record 110 Tests. New Zealand enjoyed great success during McCaw’s tenure in the side, with 131 victories (another world record), 15 losses, and 2 draws. The team won the Rugby Championship (formerly the Tri-Nations competition) 10 times (7 under his captaincy), the Bledisloe Cup contested by New Zealand and Australia 13 times (10 under his captaincy), and two Rugby Union World Cups (2011 and 2015, both under his captaincy).      Off the rugby field, McCaw was known for his charitable causes, which included the iSport Foundation and the organization Leukaemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand. He was also involved in fund-raising after the devastating Christchurch earthquakes of 2010–11. Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, who was a fighter pilot in World War II, McCaw was a licensed pilot. In 2015 he was made the youngest-ever member of the Order of New Zealand, and the following year he was named New Zealander of the Year. His autobiography, Richie McCaw: The Open Side (2012), was also published under the title The Real McCaw: The Autobiography. Chasing Great, a biographical documentary film, was released in 2016.

Last but not least, besides being a great captain in the field, a great person off the field, he also a great man to his family. He is being a great dad to a cute baby girl and great husband to his wife. That is why I admire him the most. He has the quality and examples on what gentleman should have. A little less, I could apply the quality he has on my daily life.

The Leader I Admire

THE PERSON THAT I ADMIRE THE MOST

VIJAY JOSEPH

Google Image

C. Joseph Vijay (born 22 June 1974) is an Indian film actor, playback singer and dancer who works in Tamil cinema. Referred to by fans and media as Thalapathy (commander), Vijay is the highest paid actor and one of the most significant figures in the industry. By 2017, he became the second-highest grossing actor in Tamil cinema history, behind Rajinikanth.

Google Image

As of 2019, Vijay has acted in 64 films as a lead actor and won numerous awards including three Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, eight Vijay Awards, an India today Award, SIIMA Award, Cosmopolitan Award and National Film Award UK, three Edison Awards and two Vikatan Awards. He received an honorary doctorate from the Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute of the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in 2007 for his contributions to social welfare and in honor of his achievements in the film industry. He goes by the name Joseph Vijay.

He is fondly called Ilayathalapathy (young knight) and he is also fondly addressed as Anna (brother) by his fans. Although he had a rough beginning, he reached the peak of his career through sheer determination. Having been in the Tamil industry for more than two decades and acted in 55 movies, Vijay has been involved in numerous hit movies. Though he began as a “lover boy”, he went on to shine as a mass action hero. Apart from that, he was also adored for his amazing singing talent and arguably incredible dance moves. No matter how many successes he has achieved, he remains humble and kind. His silent demeanor makes people wonder if he is actually the same shimmering star on the screen. He takes time off his hectic schedule to painlessly serve the people who are suffering from hunger and poverty. He even turned his official fan club into an active organization which reaches out to people stricken by poverty. He also supplies stationery and computers to the schools around the area. Yet, he has never publicly spoken about it. He has kept a low profile, doing it all on his own time and accord. He has inspired not only me, but millions of fans around the world in so many ways. The list is endless. Yet, as an actor, celebrity and famous figure, he has his share of haters too. There are people who are ignorant of his talents, achievements and successes.

Come to this guy Mikado Meiji he changed everything on Japan until European side also terrified with their new Japan.

Lets see what does he did during his reign to make a new Japan :

1.Mikado Meiji realised that european education and system is the best in the world at that time so he adapt european education to his country with already modified to Japan's culture and tradition.

2.He sent many Japanese to go study in America and bring American knowledge back and apply to Japan benefits. He also set the Kuotai system education that make people loyal only to the Japan Emperor instead of Samurai.

6.All tradition that didn't give benefit to country is prohibited.

7.Feudal System or Damiyo System is prohibited and all land which conquer by warlords and samurai is taken by Meiji. He replaced them with new governor which their salary is fixed and tax direct given to Meiji.

8.For samurai and warlords which already lose their job,Meiji change them from being a warlord to entrepreneur and his idea is openly accepted by samurai and warlords.Meiji idea is 'I can help you but you also have to gain own effort to earn something for country and yourself ' .

9.An energy law was enacted in 1872 that required a 20-year-old to join the army. Therefore, the Japanese National Army was formed with membership of all walks of life.

A recent study shows that Malaysians really do think highly of him.

He still reads and always write up blogs and post to share his idea especially about our beloved country Malaysia.

In a nutshell, my dream is to be like Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed and meet him. I hope i even will be strong like him when im in his age. I hope he will always continue serving the country and the newer generations will not forget his contributions.

My Inspired Leader

One of my favorite leader that inspired me is Lady Diana. This is her.

source : Google image
“Everyone needs to be valued, everyone has the potential to give something back.” – Lady Diana

Lady Diana grew up in an aristocratic family, clearly no stranger from networking at social gatherings with the elite upper class and having the attention drawn to her. All that was quickly put into perspective when she became Princess Diana of Wales after marrying Prince Charles in 1981. Lady Diana’s legacy reached far beyond Wales and continues to impact people to this day.

Lady Diana was an exemplary leader of being true to oneself. When put in a position of power she handled it with grace while maintaining all her core values and principles. Lady Diana was known for being one of the first British Monarch’s to adopt servant leadership style. This can be seen from her smallest acts of acknowledging people to charitable acts of global significance.

source : Google image

Diana maintained close contact with common-folk, breaking class norms especially for someone of her social ranking. At a time when AIDS was considered to be contagious through contact, she would go and spend time with those diagnosed with the condition in hospitals and at treatment centers and be photographed holding their hand to destroy the stigma. She was also a large advocate for homelessness aiding in destroying the stigma for that as well, a case that many in the royal family before her had never advocated for. Using her social status and power to change her country’s view on important social issues that were deemed undesirable for centuries, Diana was truly the people’s princess.
source : Google image
Lady Diana was thrust into the limelight immediately upon her marriage with Prince Charles. The public was fascinated with the matrimony. Nearly 600,000 people gathered in the streets to attend the wedding and another 750 million people watched on television. People quickly fell in love with Diana’s philanthropy, style and fact that she was unwilling to conform to the predetermined lifestyle of the Monarch. Diana was determined to raise her two children to be humble and use their power to better the lives of the peoplenot just let the predetermined social status carry them throughout their life.
source : Google image

Diana was a servant and then a leader, an advocate for the people. Upon her death in 1997 in Paris, 2.5 billion people watched her funeral on television. A statistic representing a fragment of the impact servant leadership can have on the united world.

“I think the biggest disease the world suffers from in this day and age is the disease of people feeling unloved,” – Princess Diana

hye every one.. how are u guys doing? few more month to finish ey!. so as we strive to the end of our lecture here I hope we all stay focus and keep the energy. Allright for today entry I would like to write about leadership and the man I choose is The Great Conqueror Mehmed the second also nown as Mehmed Fatih

Mehmed II ha two ancession on his life. When he was just 12 his Father set him to the throne. At the same year he face a grave internal and external crises. The treat from The King of Hungary, the pope, The Byzantine Empire and Venice all eager to take advantage of this newly Sultan seeing he as a kid and do not have enough experiance to rule the Kingdom, no I mean Empire.
The catastrophic internal crises in the Ottoman empire leading a treat of the kill to him by Jannisaries (an elite troup of army than can overpower a ruler) making his father to dethrone him and taking his place as a Sultan in the Ottoman empire.

Second ancession
In the year of 1451, upon his father death he ascended his father throne. His mid is filled with the idea of capturing Constantinople, Europe and Byzantium as remembering his former reign.
In the young adulthood Mehmed II is able to make a diplomatic relationship and military preparation. Other than that we sign ans treaty with Venice and Hungary neutral despite all the internal crises of the Ottoman empire. Its a lot in his plate at that time considering he was just 21 years old at that time. The great leadership displayed on his character making his troup and other politicians at his time agreed and support his ambition.

The Invasion of Contantinople
On April 1953 Mehmed II arrived at Constantinople with the strength of 150000 armies. The rain the walls of Constantinople with cannon for 48 days. Stronghold of the Byzantine empire the wall still standing tall after all the blast from the cannon. The wall itself is made very thick with four layers before it can be breach to the centre town. The Byzantine armies barricade Bhosphorus straits to stop the Mehmed fleet from entering. But on a Miroucolus night Mehmed II oder his troup to pulls the ship on the land. On the next day 72 warship of the Ottoman empire is already berth at the bay of Bhosporus strait.
Giving this advantages Mehmed II himself leading the invasion inside the wall of Constantinople.
Such carefull invasion has been made and to keep his Honour as a great leader, he order his army to not invade the holy temple and not attacked woman kids, and also armies that surrender himself.
The capture of Constantinople bestow on MehmedII incomparable prestige and glory and immense authority within his own country.

Achievement
The Conqueror reorganized the Ottoman empire. and sanc the crimenal laws for he first time in the empire of the Ottoman.
He also restore the Constantinople as the city worth of world trade centre and he now called Istanbul or orriginally named Islambol. In order to repolpulate the city he invited Muslim and Christian from Anatolia and Balkan. Considered as the most broad minded and free minded Sultan in the Ottoman empire he gathered humanist, Greek scholar at his court. He collect in his palace works from the library in Greek and Latin.

Other campaign
In he later life he rally another campaign to take over the former land of Ottoman Empire, Balkan Hungaray, Anatolia and as far as Crimean peninsula and oranto in The Southern Italy.

Appreciation
Following this historic moment of Mehmed II I  was astonished by his leadership and charisma that within him. Despite the gravely dispute in his internal empire that i couldnt stress enough he able to lead the army and restore his prestige and bring victory to his Empire when he was very young. it makes me reflect myself when I was about his age, I am still figuring what is life about, and just drift with thw time. Dont you?

Introduction to Management (Influencing)

Management can be defined as the process of administering and controlling the affairs of the organization, irrespective of its nature, type, structure and size. It is an act of creating and maintaining such a business environment wherein the members of the organization can work together, and achieve business objectives efficiently and effectively.

I will be focusing on influencing and its importance in effective management. First of all, what is influencing? According to the Association of Project Management, influencing means an act of affecting the behaviours and actions of others. Influencing is a necessary skill for anyone in business, whether a person is a manager or a salesperson. The ability to bring others to your way of thinking without force or coercion is important in business. Influencing others is a transferable skill business persons take with them from job to job in the business world. Managers want to convince employees to work hard, and salesmen need to convince clients their product is the best purchase choice, for example.

In order to effectively influence an individual, one must posses a variety of skills such as sensory awareness (understanding your own behaviour and that of others), emotional intelligence (representing your own feelings and those of others), communication skills (flexibility in approaches, methods and media), negotiation skills (ability to persuade and find a mutually acceptable position), contextual awareness (ability to select the appropriate time, place and contributors),  cultural awareness (understanding the wide diversity of factors, from background, race, gender and learning styles, to communication, values and beliefs).

One quality that is vital for influencing is confidence. Being able to influence others in meetings and other business exchanges requires confidence. Even when you don’t have the authority to make a certain decision, being able to influence others can give you the confidence you need to suggest a change to managers and get them to accept your idea. If others regularly influence you when you want to say, “No,” knowing how to influence can also help you stand your ground and successfully persuade others that your way of thinking is correct.

Influencing can be overt, discreet, conscious or subconscious and can be applied to any, or all, stakeholders. The actions of an individual or group can also indirectly influence others who are not stakeholders. For example, a team working on a new product or service may be very positive about their task. This enthusiasm then becomes general knowledge and leads others in the wider organisation to ask about the work and even to seek to participate in it or use its products.

Influence evolves as relationships are built between parties. Relationships can be based on positive factors such as shared values, ethical positions, trust and genuine liking and respect. In some situations influencing is wholly based on perceived authority. This can be negative as it provides an ability to influence based upon fear and insecurity. This, in turn, can easily become a form of control that leads to compliance without commitment.
