 FIRE ACCIDENT ON MV SALAM MESRA

 A vessel name M.V SALAM MESRA has been anchored at Eastern working anchorage,inside Singapore Territorial Waters without cargo about 4 nautical miles from Singapore Brani Port.

On 16 JULY 2018, at about 1510hrs , vessel get caught fire at accomodation on Deck A and Bridge. All ship crew ran to Deck A to fight with fire.The ship's fire fighting team get prepared with fire extinguisher and SCBA (SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS)

Around 1600hrs Singapore Rescue Team and Fire-Fighters came to fight with fire.They used two rescue boat to fight with the fire.

The rescue team make sure that the ship crews are safe and make them sit far from accomodation.All the crew were investigated by the rescue team so that they can know what were the cause for the fire.The cause of fire was electrical short circuit from Master cabin. Around 1700hrs the fire-fighters manage to extinguish the fire.

The Bridge and Deck A has fully damage and the equipment cannot be used.The ship was under surveillance for one day to make sure the fire was fully extinguish. After 2weeks the ship was tow to Bangladesh to scrap .
