Piracy Attack Failed at GULF OF GUINEA

I was onboard Kota Sejati when the incident happens.We en routing from Singapore to Capetown,South Africa port of call passing Indian ocean for 17days.Once casting off port of Capetown we proceeding to west africa which we will pass through high risk piracy area at Gulf of Guinea.The passage itself will take 3 days to the first port Lagos,Nigeria.At the moment we are calling 3 ports altogether at Nigeria which is Lagos followed by Tincan and lastly Onne will be the piracy attack failed on our sister ship Kota Sempena.Once open sea proceeding to Nigeria we started preparing all the precautions to be taken to avoid piracy attack.Master ordered to all crews preparing razor wire,tyres and electric fence all around ship and it takes 3 days to set up all.Now all fixed and we start doing piracy drills to avoid any unfamilirisation among all the crew if attack happens.All set up and Kota Sempena just 50 Nautical Miles ahead from Kota Sejati.Both vessel doing same route.Both ships safely did 2 ports in Nigeria and proceeding to Last Port of call ONNE,Nigeria.As Kota Sempena just 35 Nautical miles ahead of Kota Sejati both proceding to Onne with 22knots speed approximately.At 1800 LT Master of Kota Sempena,informed Nigeria navy that they have been chasing by a pirate boat with 8 persons on the boat armed.They decided to increase full rpm to 116 RPM speeding up to 24 knots.We on Kota Sejati able to see them on radar.They tried to hop onboard but they failed as vessel was keep on changing course. They heard the VHF message by Navy of Nigeria that they are just 10 miles away from Kota Sempena.The pirate boat ran away as the get to know they not able to manage onboard.Navy of Nigeria able to catch up Kota Sempena and took report from the vessel crew and Master.Later on we catched up Kota Sempena and we got escort by Navy of Nigeria throughout the passage to Onne port.Of course Pacific International Lines paid the escort fees.Nothing is free.I have managed to collect all the information because Kota Sempena 3rd officer was my friend.I have uploaded some photos and videos for you guys to get a good picture of the incident at Gulf of Guinea.
