About 1500H we depart from boathouse (ALAM) to Pulau Perjudi. Initially, we moved in group and I was partnered with Redza on double-seat kayak. It was pretty hot afternoon and the waves were not calm but can be handled still. After a while, everyone started to part. Somes were already further infront and somes were left behind. As for me and Redza, we mantained in the middle keeping our right track.
After 3 hours of kayaking, my friends from other kayak (Den and Yan) invite us to have a mini break while having junk foods they brought along. We got tempted and stop for a while. Little did we know that it was actually a bad decision as we regretted later. Why?
Because once we stopped, the current took us all the way backward. It was frustrating. We didn't realize at first, but after continuous kayak for one hour, suddenly Den said "apasal kita kat tempat yang sama?" Then I was like "haah la..kita tak gerak doe". Imagine putting all the energy you had to kayak but in reality we didn't made any progress in distance. We can't stop because it will brings us further backward. So the plan was, to keep kayaking and put double effort so that we can pass the current at one point.
Too bad, it was almost sunset and we were already tore apart. Almost give up. No help arrived at all. Only four of us with two kayaks in the middle of the sea. We stopped for awhile and performed Asar prayer. Moments later, the skies were getting darker then only JJ Zanggi came to rescue by boat. He towed our kayak until reaching a safe point where the current were manageable. He released us and we continued kayaking in the dark to reach Pulau Perjudi.
By the time it was night, and we still in the middle of the sea, during that time my arms ached so much. Literally in pain and exhausted. Redza already experienced muscle cramps on his legs but thankfully it was nothing severe. We still continue but we never knew our reach point and became clueless.
Moments later, we saw a light at shore and thought it was Pulau Perjudi. Reaching nearby, turned out it wasn't. We sighed cause we thought our journey and pain almost come to an end. Then we continue. Again, we saw a jetty with few people there and after paddling until there, turned out it wasn't Pulau Perjudi again. We sighed. We moved forward then finally, we saw a small white light from afar and confirmed that it was our final destination. Thankfully, it was.
