WHAT IS DEPRESSION?
"Depression" which is also called as major depressive disorder is a common medical illness that affects how you feel,the way you think and how you act.It is also considered as common medical illness which most of people nowdays have due to different reasons.This depression also causes feeling of sadness and lost of your current mood.It can lead to a variety type of emotional and physical problems and can decrease a person's ability to function at work or at home.
Here are the some examples of Depression:
- Feeling sad or having depressed mood
- Lost of interest or pleasure in activities once enjoyed
- Changes in appetite(causes weight loss)
- Trouble when sleeping or sleeping for too long
- Loss of energy(which leads to fatigue)
- Feeling worthless or hate about yourself
- Difficulty in concentrating
- Thoughts of attempting suicide
Also,medical conditions such as thyroid problems,a brain tumor or vitamin deficiency is a type of effects that caused by depression
In conclusion,estimated in 15adults (6.7%) in any given year. And one in six people (16.6%) will experience depression at some time in their life. Depression can strike at any time, but on average, first appears during the late teens to mid-20s. Women are more likely than men to experience depression. Some studies show that one-third of women will experience a major depressive episode in their lifetime.
